The Beautiful Bird of Paradise Flower

California is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I can attest to this because I grew up in this wonderful state. However, I have to relocate to another state because of a few reasons. Anyway, this state is just drop dead gorgeous, from the ocean to the mountains. The flora is also one of best things that I love about California. I can recall that there was a bird of paradise flower growing at nearly every corner when I was living there.

Have you ever seen a bird of paradise flower? If you haven't, then let me tell you that this flower is really amazing. It is one of the most sought after and extravagant blooms in the whole entire world. However, the climate of my current state does not allow me to grow this flower. I guess I can grow one in a greenhouse, but I don't really think that I could do all that hard work just for the experience of seeing my favorite flower. Nevertheless, I still miss the bird of paradise flower.

In my opinion, there is nothing that can represent the state of California quite like these miraculous plants. That is why I was very happy when I found a bird of paradise flower at the local florist. Of course, it was not quite as fresh as it would be at home. In fact, the flower I found had seen better days, and was wilted after a few days. Nevertheless, I was still glad that I saw a bird of paradise flower again. I decided right there and then to purchase it for my wife, even though it was a bit costly.

My wife, who is also from California, did not even notice that the bird of paradise flower looked a little bit wilted when I brought it home to her that evening. I do not know why it was such a poignant moment for both of us, but it really truly was. Maybe it was because the bird of paradise flower represents what we had lost by moving away. The smell and the look of that flower triggered pleasant memories of the place we grew up in. That flower also made me wish that I hope we get to visit my home state sometime soon. I feel that I cannot stay away from home for too much longer.
